Behind the Lens

I have always grown up around photography. My dad had a darkroom in our house and I often was the model for his photo projects! But photography and scrapbooking were always just a hobby and never something I imagined for a career. Until one day in 2011 when I was asked to use my cousin’s DSLR camera to take photos at a family event - my perspective flipped. I didn’t know my photos could look like THAT!

While I was still living and working as a nonprofit manager in Athens, GA, I spent a few years teaching myself everything I could about photography, doing family portraits and small weddings on weekends and evenings. I even started taking photos for Eater Atlanta any time they had restaurants in Athens, GA, that they wanted to feature, which was my first opportunity to work with businesses. When my partner and I moved to Orlando in 2014, I had trouble breaking into the nonprofit scene and in the meantime accepted jobs with two different photography companies. Those jobs provided an amazing opportunity to train under Master Photographers and hone my photography and lighting skills to an elite level and I didn’t look back.

Since then, I have solely worked as an Orlando photographer. From corporate events at the Orange County Convention Center to elegant Winter Park venues to local family venues like Moss Estates, I’ve photographed over 100 mitzvahs, well over 1,000 weddings and hundreds of family portraits. I’ve had my work published in local magazines like JLife and Winter Park City Lifestyle, as well as People magazine and several international theme park blogs. As my business developed, I began specializing in Bar and Bat Mitzvahs as well as branding photography for businesses and entrepreneurs. Though it seems like a wide range of services for one company, I see it as the connected element of human storytelling. And in these days of AI, capturing unique human-based stories is even more important.

As our industry grows, I’m always learning and adding new services to my portfolio to better serve our clients' evolving needs. This past year, I officially introduced videography, on-set content creation, and podcast editing to the mix, allowing me to deliver whatever form of media is most useful, impactful, and important to your brand.

While you will mostly find me taking photos in Downtown Orlando, Maitland, Winter Park, Dr. Phillips, Celebration, Windermere and the Disney and Kissimmee areas, I service most of Central Florida and can be found anywhere from Jacksonville to Tampa.
