Do You Need a Photographer for your Corporate or Nonprofit Event: 6 Reasons Why Professional Photos are Worth It
We all know that prices keep rising and that putting together an event in the Orlando area is expensive. So how can you decide where to put your money? Is food most important? What about the DJ or sound and lighting equipment? Do you have an open bar or a cash bar or only offer beer and wine?
I’m obviously biased, but out of all the things you can spend money on for an event, the only thing that remains afterwards are the photos and videos. But you have an intern or admin assistant that can handle all of that, right? I’m just not sure that’s always the right move.
Here are the reasons why I think you should hire a professional photographer for your corporate or nonprofit event in the Central Florida area.
Professional photos make your event look more credible.
When your guests arrive and are greeted with a professional photographer to take their photos, they instantly feel like they’ve entered a legitimate high-end event. Knowing that they’ll have a professional photo of themselves while communicates that you’ve taken the extra step to provide a special service to your guests.
Your staff will be able to attend the event!
Unless you have a staff member whose responsibilities specifically include photography and videography for marketing purposes, you should hire a person outside your company to take on those responsibilities so all of your employees can participate in the event and focus their energy on the people in the room. Plus, there can be challenging lighting scenarios at events that will require off-camera lighting and a professional grade camera that can’t be adequately captured with just a smartphone.
You can use the photos for future marketing.
If you host an event annually for your company or nonpofit, then professional photos are a no-brainer. Not only will you have an opportunity to share an event recap on social media, in a newsletter or on your website, but also have content to market the event next year! If you’re sending out flyers or postcards or running paid ads for the event, you’ll want to have professional quality images to use.
Social media content comes from the event.
As I just mentioned, the photos from your event are an excellent opportunity for social media content. But it’s not just what your organization posts. If you share your photos with the attendees, then *they* will also likely share those photos on social media. You could even consider working with your photographer to add a border or company logo on your final images so that you branding is shared consistently no matter who is posting!
You get a visual record of the organization's work.
Yes, you might have your receipts or even an entire binder filled with planning notes for your event, but getting to see how it all turned out has a different impact. The photos give you a chance to step back and see the room the way your guests did, which may lead to changes for future events. Also, organizations can suffer with high staff turnover and having a visual record of your events can be incredibly useful in planning the next year’s event.
You can add value to your partners, sponsors or donors.
If you are hosting a corporate event and have any type of corporate partners or sponsors participating in the event, think of the added value that professional photography can provide! Those photos can be used in press releases, collaborative social posts or even just shared with executives for personal memory keeping. If you’re hosting a nonprofit event and have event sponsors, you’ll want to document their sponsorship benefits that are displayed during the event and have high quality images of those sponsors participating in your event.
